Kronstadt Ltd. and shipyard Lotos keep working on project PV300VD
20.11.2019
Kronstadt specialists have equipped a cruise passenger ship project PV300VD, built at the Lotos shipyard, with boats and boat lifting cranes.
The vessel that is, in fact, the first large passenger liner built in Russia in a long time was commissioned in May 2019. Currently, in accordance with the schedule, the shipyard is fitting onboard engineering systems with specialized equipment. At the same time, Lotos workers are arranging electric installations and glazing.
The supply by Kronstadt included two rescue boats type RB400, two lifeboats type PEL150, as well as 4 launch and recovery systems (L&RS). All the items are made by Davit International, a well-known German brand that has specialized in production of rescue and deck equipment for more than 40 years. Their systems are successfully operated on both civil and military vessels around the world.
Rescue boat type RB400 fits in 6 people. Its design speed is 6 knots and the boat navigates at it for at least 4 hours while fully loaded with people and equipment.
Lifeboats type PEL150 can embark up to 150 passengers. It is a partially enclosed boat that can be safely launched into water with people and equipment onboard at trim of up to 10° and list of up to 20° to any side. Its design speed is also 6 knots.
L&RS (boat lifting cranes) consists of supports, a davit arm, a winch, hydraulic and electric drives, reeving components, lashing bars, and a remote control panel. The system structure provides for all necessary operations to launch or recover a boat. In case of power failure or other emergency, the system offers manual mode.
Earlier for this project, under the signed contract of complex supplies, Kronstadt company delivered to PV300VD water-jet ejectors for the ballast water system, incinerators for solid and liquid waste, as well as a batch of special transformers by FUJAS A/S.
